St. Leonhard parish festival

Parish festival the first weekend in September

An age-old tradition continues each year at the annual parish festival in St. Leonhard. What originally began as a cattle auction that drew farmers from all over Salzburg has today become a musical and culinary highlight!

Each year during the first weekend in September St. Leonhard holds its annual parish festival. On Saturday evening locals and guests enjoy a spectacular musical program held in a festival tent set up near the pilgrimage church.

The festival continues Sunday with a special Mass and the blessing of the herbs. Afterwards guests can stroll around the grounds and visit the many vendor booths. Guests can relax in the Biergarten or listen to live music in the festival tent.

Monday is known as Kirtagsgaudi – a sort of post-party celebration. The festivities begin in the early evening and continue under the tent into the early morning hours. All are welcome!
