Fixed rope routes on Mount Untersberg
High ropes course Untersberg Challenges The Untersberg near Salzburg offers locals and guests various options for Alpine climbing. Among the routes is “Open Sesame” route (secured with bolts), as well as various routes between the Scheibenakuser, Wandfuß and Stöhrhaus. Just 5 kilometers from Grödig is the village of Marktschellenberg where you can follow the Hochthron route. These routes are a difficult climb, and you should only attempt to climb the Untersberg if you are an experienced climber and have the proper gear!
If you are looking for something less dangerous, then try a tree-top climb in Anif, just 5 minutes from Grödig near Salzburg. Here you can climb, nicely secured, up to 16 meters high. Test your physical fitness and get to know what life is like up amongst the tree-tops. The Waldhochseilgarten (tree-top ropes course) is a truly unique experience and one you can enjoy with the children.
